Something cool, extreme, beautiful and useful happened last weekend!
Youth Center – Vratsa organizes an initial course in alpine climbing for students from the Profiled Language High School “Joan Ekzarh” – Vratsa with a class “Animators in Tourism” and young people from Krivodol. For three days and during the Botev Alpiniada (May 7-9) the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted in theory and practise with the basic and initial steps of rock and alpine climbing. Their trainers gave a number of lectures on the richness of Vratsa rocks and the potential for the development of this sport and tourism in our region. During the training, the participants were shown different types of routes, terrains, techniques and nodes. In the practical part, each participant had the opportunity to try and climb several types of routes, provided by climbing coaches. During the alpine festival the young people had the opportunity to meet a number of guests from the country and abroad, and in these informal meetings and conversations exchanged useful information about the development of this sport and tourism, the problems facing our region, its usefulness for young people to practice it and how it can become a common concept for the development of tourism in the Vratsa region. We express our sincere gratitude to the Extreme Sports Club “Vratitsa” – Vratsa for the wonderful and professional attitude towards young people.
The course in alpine and rock climbing is part of the activities of the Youth Center – Vratsa in the implementation of Project BGLD – 1.003 – 0004 “Youth Center Vratsa – a factor for the development of the Northwest”, funded by the EEA Financial Mechanism.
