Working meetings in Timisoara - Youth Center Vratsa

Working meetings in Timisoara

Yesterday was the second day of our working visit to the FITT Timisoara partners. The day was very fruitful. We started with a work session where we got to know some of the youth workers and volunteer coordinators at the Center. Each of them shared their experience in working with local youth. They also told us about the current projects they are implementing. It was very interesting to find out how they manage to use the methods of Participatory Art for their activation, and how volunteers from all over the world get involved in the realization of their projects and initiatives. We were enormously impressed by one of the implemented projects – Summer Youth Fest. The festival was held in August, and more than 150 volunteers worldwide took part in its organization. After a short break, we switched to high-speed. We discussed the remaining joint activities to be implemented under the project, set deadlines for finalizing the handbook “Participatory Art” handbook and agreed to hold a youth exchange in Timisoara in September next year to test the developed methods. After the successfully held meetings in the hall, in the afternoon we decided to work in the field! We left for the nearby town of Lugos, where in 2021 our partners created a youth space. We met their coordinator on the spot. He told us about the activities they implement and introduced us to some young people. We were then given a tour of the city center and told about its history. The evening ended with a presentation of traditional Bulgarian food and drinks to colleagues from the Youth Center – Timisoara.

We want to thank our partners for the warm welcome and we look forward to seeing them next year in Bulgaria!

The joint activities with the Youth Center – Timisoara are part of Project BGLD – 1.003 – 0004 “Youth Center Vratsa – a factor for the development of the North-West”, financed through the Financial Mechanism of the EEA 2014-2021.
