Today the team of Youth Center – Vratsa took part in a working meeting held between the teams of the centres, part of the National Network of Youth Centers in Bulgaria, and representatives of various NGOs working in the field of social inclusion of the Roma community. The issues we focused on were related to the more effective inclusion of vulnerable groups from the Roma community in the activities of the centres, exchange of ideas and good practices, as well as some specifics of working with young people from these groups, including health education, family planning and other. Guidelines and advice regarding the work in the field and the more successful social inclusion of Roma youth were given to us by Mrs Radostina Chaprazova – Director for Bulgaria of the Arete Youth Foundation; Ms Eileen Jaffer – Project Manager at the Social Alternative Trust; Dr Radosveta Stamenkova – Executive Director of BFPA; Mr Petar Tsvetanov – Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the National Network of Health Mediators and current health mediator in the Municipality of Montana and Mr Nikolay Kirilov – founder of “Roma Lom”.
The meeting took place in connection with the implementation of Project BGLD – 1.003 – 0004 “Youth Center Vratsa – a factor for the development of the Northwest”, funded by the EEA Financial Mechanism.
