Last week, one of the most anticipated events took place! Our youth exchange took place with our partners from the Youth Center in Timisoara. Part of our team together with 20 young people were with our colleagues. There we had the opportunity to experience their high standards of youth work and their culture as the city is the European Capital of Culture for 2023.
The purpose of our visit was to test the developed joint methodology for activating young people through Participatory Art. The program that our colleagues had prepared was an incredible creative adventure through the wilds of emotional intelligence and creativity.
The implemented activities were extremely interesting and very useful for our young people. The first module of the program was dedicated to ceramics, and the works created by the participants were inspired by their interests and understanding of the world. The second module was Textual Impressions. His goal was to print on paper various textual, figurative and plant elements that reflect issues that concern each of the youth. The third module was the Digital Doodle Jam, which introduced young people to the world of digital art and how it can be used to express themselves online.
The youth exchange could not be complete without a multicultural evening. During it, the Romanian and Bulgarian youth presented their culture. We introduced our friends from Romania to traditional dances and Bulgarian songs. Homemade Bulgarian dishes, sweets and wines were tasted, which were specially brought by the participants.
During the exchange, there was also an evening of board games. Then we were also able to demonstrate the methodology of Participatory Boardgaming. It turned out to be an amazing evening where we all had a lot of fun together. Colleagues from the Youth Center in Timisoara also organized a wonderful tour of the city’s sights for us.
We thank our partners from FITT Timisoara for their hospitality and efforts to make this exchange a reality. We expect them very soon in Bulgaria.
The joint activities with the Youth Center – Timisoara are in implementation of Project BGLD – 1.003 – 0004 “Youth Center Vratsa – a factor for the development of the North-West”, financed through the Financial Mechanism of the EEA 2014-2021.
