Last Friday was extremely exciting for us! Together with the Youth Center – Montana, we organized a hike to Mount Kom. Nearly 50 young people from Montana and Vratsa, representatives of different high schools from the two cities gathered at the Kom hut to try to climb the peak of the same name. The weather was quite changeable. The ascent took place in winter conditions and we managed to reach Middle Kom at the foot of the summit. During the hike, we talked with the young people about teamwork, the beauty of Northwestern Bulgaria and how we can promote tourism in the region. We are also extremely grateful to our mountain guides – Evgeni Filipov and Dimitar Gergachev, without whom this ascent would not have been possible. The huts from Kom proved to be wonderful hosts, as after the ascent a first aid course was held by the BMCHK – Montana, and then we also held several informal activities related to teamwork and the topics discussed during the ascent. The event ended with a very positive mood, some wet socks, but with a promise of many more future joint activities with colleagues from the Youth Center – Montana.
Club “Sports animation and tourism” was created in connection with the implementation of Project BGLD – 1.003 – 0004 “Youth Center Vratsa – a factor for the development of the Northwest”, financed through the Financial Mechanism of the EEA 2014-2021.
